~sleep~

~Before Ethan arrived, everyone told me "you have to sleep when the baby sleeps"...well, let me just say that it's very difficult to sleep when Ethan sleeps...taking 90 minute cat naps throughout the day is not easy for me.

~As a result, I'm operating on about 4.5 hours of (interrupted) sleep.

~I emailed the Recruiter @ the hospital to express my interest in the jobs I've applied for...she wrote back saying my resume was forwarded to the hiring managers and they'll contact me directly for an interview if they are interested....that's not very helpful nor does it instill much hope. I'm keeping my fingers crossed though - the 7pm-7am job would be absolutely ideal. I only wish I knew the name of the manager and I could email him/her. I would think that shift would be hard to fill and so I'm really hoping they call....

~Can someone please do the "get a new job" dance?

Hmmm... I think I might have to look up the moves for that one, but I will give it my best shot.

Yeah, I always thought it was nice how babies could get by on snoozing in short bursts. 90 minutes is fine for a nap but not fo actual *sleep*. =P Is he up eating every 90 minutes? Or just awake sometimes? Because if he is nusring that often, you must feel like an all you can eat buffet at this point.

Dawn-he usually eats about every 2 hours, sometimes 3 hours (but rarely)...occassionally during the day he'll eat more frequently...like today.

The lactation lady also told me there is a growth-spurt @ 2 wks of age and he'll eat more often...well, he's 2 wks and 4 days old today...so I guess that's what is going on. :-)

hi! that is one thing that is worrisome about having a baby - lack of sleep! I hear it gets better though! :) and good luck on the hospital job!

Night shift is usually pretty hard to fill, but every once in a while, I'll run across someone who *wants* to work it. They actually prefer it! Being a morning person in the extreme, I just can't imagine it. Sounds like torture to me!
