Bookish and Not-So-Bookish Thoughts

Bookish and Not-So-Bookish Thoughts is a weekly blogging event hosted by Bookishly Boisterous. It allows book bloggers (and non-book bloggers) to write about pretty much anything, bookish or otherwise (i.e. share exciting plans for the weekend, rants on things they've encountered during the week, etc.).
*************************************************************************************

1) 1 day of school left until Christmas break...woohoo, it can't get here soon enough. Today is the Christmas show and while it makes for a long day, it's always so wonderful and I can't help but love watching my little man in the show. This year he has a speaking part, which included weekly rehearsals and memorizing lines. I know when I was in 1st grade, I would NEVER have signed up for something like this.

2) I'm about 1/2 way ready for Christmas...I have a few presents wrapped, inside decor is done, even last minute adjustments...all that's really left to do is baking. I will bake the traditional Peanut Butter Blossoms (Hershey Kiss cookies) and Creme de Menthe Brownies - which at one time was my specialty and now I couldn't tell you when I last made them.

3) I jumped on-board the Serial bandwagon and just started listening to Episode 12...she started it with a few comments making it sound like the last episode. Nooooooo.

4) I've been in a bit of a reading slump. I attribute it to a higher level of stress during the day, a lack of Christmas spirit and the overwhelming feeling of what to read next...so many choices.

5) We are hoping/planning to make a run for SC for New Year's Eve. As much as I wanted to stay put and take care of things at home, I am looking forward to getting away and being a bit of a sloth for a couple days.

6) I'm way behind on all things scrapbooking. I really hope the Christmas break helps me put a dent in my scrapbook deficit.

Everything is still up in the air about how we will celebrate Christmas. My youngest son moved to the northern end of the state, and my daughter is starting over in a new home with a new life. One sound lives in Europe, and the other at the southern end of the state. LOL

I do plan to enjoy movies and reading.
