~Disney Withdrawal~
I love Mickey Mouse and especially Pluto, he is my favorite.
I miss them. I haven't seen them since 2000.
Over the past couple weeks I've been conspiring about how I could swing a trip down there, even if it was only a long weekend. I don't know if it will happen, but you better believe if there is even a glimmer of hope that I can make it a reality, E and I will be in the car on our way. I think E would really enjoy it too, even at his young age. There is SO much to see!!
Oh and I said only E and I would go because most of you don't know that my husband is leaving for National Guard boot camp and individual training on May 4 and will be gone for 19 weeks.
Also during the month of May, I will be free from grad school classes, but will still have to work my Grad Asst position 20 hours per week. I work Mon, Tues & Wed and I am off on Thur & Fri, so technically a long weekend is certainly do-able, it's just the financial piece that would need to work itself out.
It would be about a 10 hour drive, which I realize is a (whole) lot with a 14 month old, by myself. Again, hard to say whether this little trip can even become a reality this year, but it sure would be fun if it did.

I wish you could take your hubby to Disney before boot camp! My disney tip - buy your park tickets at the hotel. It was much cheaper. And, of course, book your meals/ character meals right away. The best fill up fast - like the Castle or Mickey's breakfast. Maybe, we could all do a shout out to Disney for you to get a discount?? It would be fun to try. Give us a web address that we can all spam for you. I have a very adorable stuffed animal story today on my blog :-) Seriously... give us an address to spam!!!!
Ah, Disney! I love it too, but my husband refuses to go until we have kids, and even then, I think it will be dicey. I think you totally should go....but 10 hrs with a little one may be a lot! Good luck on your decision, hope you won't be too lonely without your man for that long!
Oh, do it!! Sounds like a wonderful time and you definately deserve some fun time. I've never been but it's on my list of things to do someday!
I *really* hope you can do it!!!
hope you're able to make it down. gotta love that place. i take it for granted having it in the state i live in...i do still think it's great, especially when you bring kids...
Ahhh, you have what I call Disney Fever. I get it myself every few years or so. I'll be fine one day, then suddenly I can't rest until I get to Disney World. My fam and I just took the road trip in feb (it's about 20 hours from NY). It was a looog ride, but for the most part we all had a great time, I think.
Oh, and I was just there last month. We took the baby for the first time, he had just turned one. It was a great day.
I hope you get to go soon, but that is an incredibly long drive by yourself with a 14 month old.
I say go for it! Disney is blast and what a great destination! I took my three kids this fall on a 15 hour car ride to visit my family. They were 2 and 6 months (twins) at the time. It was a rough trip, but worth it to see family. I think you would be fine with just one little one!!!
Girly, if you figure out a way to pull this off in May, you *better* believe I am meeting up with you one of those days!! And if it doesn't happen this time, WHEN you make it down here, that meeting up part stands! I am crashing your vacation!
wow! I love disney but i've never been to disney land before! No disneyworld here in Philippines. Only in Hongkong and Japan.... Island hopping is really expensive!!!!
I love road trips! I am keeping my fingers crossed that it works out and you can go!
I love Disney, too. I haven't been since we went on a Disney cruise (that included a couple of days in Disney World) in 1998. My husband has never been to a Disney park, if you can believe it! Now that we're on the west coast, it'll be Disneyland for us--but he can apparently buy discounted tickets on his Navy base, and Disneyland is supposed to only be three hours or so from us. We don't have any kids to take, just ourselves, but we've never had a honeymoon, so I can't think of a better way to have fun together.
Oh wow... 19 weeks... o_O I'm sorry about that.
Aww, Disney World is freakin' awesome. I happen to live less than an hour away from Disneyland... and I'm actually going there today. I'll send your love to Mickey and Pluto!
I really hope you get to go to Disney World! That place makes me so happy, I get depressed for two weeks after I leave!
My husband and I went there on our Honeymoon last year and it was seriously the best vacation I ever took!!
