bursting at the seams
~it's because last night when checking my school email account I discovered a "want ad" for a Bilingual School Counselor at the local Catholic school. OMG is all I have to say!! I'm pretty excited about this because I'm 99% sure no one else in my Masters program is fluent in Spanish AND the ad said they would take candidates who had not completed the program yet...which means I would be a good candidate for them to consider.
~SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO if I were to get hired...that changes ALOT of things...like I could quit my Graduate Assistantship (yay!) AND I would graduate in December 2010 instead of May 2011 since I would basically be doing my Internship while working AND getting paid for it. Wooohooo!!
~I'm trying really hard to not get too excited about this...but I cannot contain myself. It's certainly the high point of my week and gives me some hope.
~This is also the school I've been hoping to be able to send E to, so if I were to end up working there, we'd likely get reduced tuition. Hooray!! I also believe they have child care/pre-school so I could hopefully have him right there on-site with me every day. How awesome would that be!!
~So if you need me I'll be updating my resume and writing my cover letter.
~Well wishes and prayers are welcome!! This job would be a such a blessing!!

this sounds perfect!
you deserve it. :)
Congradulations and good luck!
And this is quite random, but I very much love the look of your blog. For the record darling :)
Yay! Good luck I am so rooting for you, you deserve some good things to come your way.
how exciting! hoping things work out for you!! i know it can be stressful (and downright suck) to be stuck in a job you don't quite enjoy... blah. this sounds so wonderful!
That is awesome about the job. It sounds like a good sign that they're willing to accept graduate students - that the pool of "real" counselors with Spanish speaking skills isn't really there, so they need to expand their horizons as much as possible. I will keep my fingers crossed that it works out.
And you want E to go to Catholic school. . .I did not know that! Will have to file that tidbit in the K-Files.
Whhhoooo hoooo! That sounds like an excellent opportunity. My thoughts and good wishes are with you.
I could of used you with me today - next time I'm bringing you instead of J. Our first day in Puerto Rico and my Spanish is very limited. So, needless to say - the only thing I do well is order drinks and food. The rest of the time, I stumble my way through and hope someone speaks English.
Again...good luck with the job.
God luck! Hope it goes well and even if it doesn't, what a great stepping stone and such good experience... keep posting!
That would be AWESOME! Good luck, keep us posted!! :-)
Awesome news!!! Good luck
Fingers crossed for you & I tossed in an extra prayer at church for you yesterday too. ;-)
What an amazing opportunity. It couldn't be more perfect. I'll say a prayer for you.
