Bookish and Not-So-Bookish Thoughts

Bookish and Not-So-Bookish Thoughts is a weekly blogging event hosted by Bookishly Boisterous. It allows book bloggers (and non-book bloggers) to write about pretty much anything, bookish or otherwise (i.e. share exciting plans for the weekend, rants on things they’ve encountered during the week, etc.).
*********************************************************************************

1. I haven't blogged for 56 days and my last blog post was a "Bookish and Not-So-Bookish Thoughts" post. Ha! Gotta love summer!!

2. I'm reading books left and right...rocking my yearly goal with currently being 6 books ahead of schedule...love it....too bad it won't last...only 3 weeks of summer vacay left and then real life crap starts again and reading time plummets.

3. Loved reading The Lemon Orchard by Luanne Rice. I've never read anything from her before. This story had an immigration/border issues theme and right at the very crossing where I lived for 2 years, so that was kinda neat to read about.

4. Tomorrow I will be 100% done with the kitchen cabinet makeover project! Woohoo!! I am so excited and pleased with how they have turned out. Next up: a tile backsplash, that I've been told is an easy-to-moderate level project. Hoping to bust it out next week and then bring in the painter to change the wall color. Yay...new kitchen.
5. Would have had my new patio poured tomorrow but O got caught up in VA at work...so postpone another week. Heck, I've been waiting 3 years for the damn patio...what's another couple weeks at this point.

6. I cannot believe that we haven't gone to the beach this summer. We normally go during July 4th but once again let's thank O's employment for effin' that one up. So July 4th was spent shooting hillbilly fireworks in our backyard...like they say "when in Rome..."  On the brighter side...we ARE going to the beaches of SC for Labor Day weekend and while I look forward to it, I also dread it because I'll be back in school by then. Crap! Where did the summer go? Seriously!?!?

7. Thought I'd get caught up on my Project Life over summer break. Yeah...totally not even close. #fail

8. Posting this at least with only 24 minutes left in this Thursday. Adios!
