TGIF!!! Woohoo!!

So glad it's Friday!!

Except for the longer line at ChickFila in the morning. :)

Should be fairly uneventful day at work - that's always good.

It's Parents Night Out at the Y tonight so E will be hanging out there from 6-9pm.

He loves it there - thank goodness.

O and I will NOT be doing anything exciting (of course) but rather, running some errands that are just a lot easier without the little man in tow. Ho hum!!

And now you are probably onto the next blog since this one is so boring. Ha!

Saturday will be filled with drama as I attend our annual HOA meeting. It's always great for people watching. They will also have pirate-themed activities for the little ones, so E will love that.

When that ends, I'll be bound for the scrapbook store for the remainder of the day. Yes, folks, I will actually be attending a crop...truly a miracle. How did this happen you ask...well let's just say that I totally saved O's behind at work the other day and told him he owed me BIG TIME and that I'd be going to the crop. 'Nuff said. His answer: "ok"  He knew better than to fight me on that. Ha!

Sunday will hopefully be a day of rest. As it should.

Hope your weekend is fabulous!!

Ugh!

Today is one of those days when my cast is driving me absolutely crazy. It's tight. It's hot. It's heavy. It's annoying. And I still have 11 more days to go. :(

Sorry to be whiney.

I Want Wednesday

I want: this adorable pillow!! It is SO me!! And it's SO cute!

I want: this awesome map heart of my fabulous hometown. It's been a rough fewish years for Detroit and it is worthy of some love!! A perfect addition to my home office. :)

I want: this adorable shirt - but with a "5" for Ethan's next birthday!! Love the colors!!

I want: these adorable rolls of washi tape. Too bad they are in Europe and would cost me $21 total to get them after shipping. Ouch!!

It was an Etsy-wanting kind of week I guess.

*for sale*

I've been trying to make some changes in my home office for a while, primarily to have a little more space for scrapbooking and sewing.

One of the changes I would like to make is to sell the Pottery Barn Bedford Desk HUTCH pieces I have. There are 3 of them.

This is what my current set up looks like (this is however, not my home):
Don't get me wrong, I like the look and the set up, but I need more desktop space and this limits that opportunity for me. I need to make a change.
So why am I posting this here?

Because I've posted this on Craigslist a few times, I've had a few bites here and there, but no sale yet. I'm hoping to open it up via my blog - even if only 3 people read it...if they tell 3 people and they tell 3 people, well, you get it. You just never know.

Anyway, the corner DESK IS still available from Pottery Barn, however these 3 hutch pieces are not. Hopefully, there is someone out there who purchased the corner desk (or wants to) and did not get the hutch pieces and now wishes she had. Again, ya' never know.

So, if you know of anyone who might be interested, please email me or have them email me.

Below is the picture of the set up I'd like to go to. Once I sell the hutch pieces, I'd then purchase 1-2 other PB pieces - primarily the flat desktop piece to make more of an "L" shaped desk (sewing space!!) and then that small hutch piece shown there, as well as one more filing cabinet (scrapbook paper).

too much

Last night I counted up how many scrapbook projects I currently have "in progress".

-Project Life -ongoing through 2012

-One Little Word -ongoing through 2012, but only on a monthly basis vs. weekly with PL

-2011 Summer Mini-yep, pretty far behind on this one. Would really like to finish before this summer though.

-2012 Summer Mini - still an idea in my head. Have some supplies but haven't put anything together yet. Haven't decided on the format I want to use.

-52 Lists in 52 Weeks - we are on Week 50. Thank goodness. I've loved this project but am also ready to have less "things" to keep up with. And a sense of completion & accomplishment is ALWAYS good!!

-30 Lists in 30 Days - I did this in September 2011 and this second version actually ran in March but I didn't do it then, so have started it in May. I'm already at least a week behind. *sigh*

-Ali's "5" Album self-paced workshop - I've taken a couple steps towards starting this one.

-And then there is the random mini-albums and 1/2 completed scrapbook pages tucked away on/in my desk waiting their completion. There's no telling how many of them there area.

-And should my scrapbooking camp come to fruition here at school, then I'll have 3 other little minis to put together as well as a layout of some sort. Eeks!!

-I think I need to cut back. but i can't. i think this is what addiction looks like. :-/

randomness

*i've been trying to scrounge up something to blog about all day...apparently my life is just *that* boring, I couldn't come up with a thing...so it will just have to be some Friday randomness.

*this cast on my leg/foot is driving me next to nuts. I never thought it would bother me so much, but I'm over it and it's only day #3. 18 more to go!! Lord, give me strength.

*Fun day planned on Saturday with mom and Ethan. Wish I didn't have this cast on though.

*Sunday is church and breakfast with Mom, O, myself and Ethan. Mini-Mother's Day celebration.

*9.5 days of school left (with kids). Then 3 days without. :)

*Looking SO forward to WDW in just 22ish days with my little man. It'll be just the two of us roaming the park this time. So fun!

*Have a good weekend!!

Week in the Life - COMPLETE!!

I LOVED this project and am SO glad I made it through the entire week (April 23-29) taking pictures every day. I tried this back in 2008 and wasn't so successful. I enjoyed every bit of this project and am kind of sad that it's over. At least I have about 3-4 other scrapbooking projects to devote myself to now.

I did a mini version of this compared to what Ali Edwards does.  I used an aqua colored, 5.5" x 8.5"  Martha Stewart binder from Staples with the MS page protectors, both 4 pocket and 2 pocket versions, in clear. I also had some 5.5x8.5 page protectors laying around that I used for the larger photographs I included.

Here are a few pictures of my album:

That supercute camera flair is from http://www.etsy.com/shop/aflairforbuttons

I loved using up so many little embellishments I've had for so long!!

This one best documents a "typical day"!!
A little grumpy in the morning.
My poorly planned lunch.
Happy on the playground when I pick him up.
A stop at Starbucks on the way home.

Wednesday was Book Fair Family Night at our school...I converted that pin to some flair!! Yay!

A somewhat relaxing evening on Thursday.
I skipped Yoga that night - too tired.
Loved making that cut out with my Silhouette Cameo.

One of my favorite pages...simple but lovely.
That pic of Ethan on the scale is my favorite from the whole week! I just love it!

WWW Wednesday

Today is WWW Wednesday

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

My answers:

What am I currently reading?

After consecutively reading some WWII historical fiction books, I opted for some light-hearted chick-lit.  "Perfect Timing" by Jill Mansell. I've had this on my Nook for quite a while, in fact, I believe I got it either as a FREE FRIDAY read or for .99!! Love those. I am really enjoying it and can't wait to pick it up everyday after school. And doesn't she have the most beautiful book covers?!

What did I recently finish reading?

"A Parachute in a Lime Tree" by Annemarie Neary. With a title like that, how could I not read it. My favorite genre of WWII historical fiction. A short and enjoyable book.

What do I think I'll read next?
This is always a struggle for me. So many good books, so little time. I just picked up a few Nook books for $2.99 each (great deal!) so I have plenty to choose from...it's just making the decision that's the hard part.

I think I'll go with "The Ninth Wife" by Amy Stolls. This is one of the $2.99 deals and it was already on my "to read" list. I love when that happens!!

I am also somewhat anxious to read "The $100 Startup: Reinvent the Way You Make a Living, Do What You Love, and Create a New Future" by Chris Guillebeau so maybe I'll pick it up soon so I can check it out. I've heard great things about it and I'm all for working for myself and doing things differently. The author is touring right now but like most authors, not stepping foot in the state of TN...I'm sure there are statistics that reflect high levels of illiteracy around here, and then there are the moonshine manufacturers. 'Nuff said.

the running (or lack thereof) saga continues

I returned to the Orthopaedic doctor today, approximately 6 weeks after my initial visit, only to report that my foot had worsened. I haven't ran since April 1st, when I did the Knoxville Half (and probably shouldn't have ran it at all, but we won't talk about that for now).

I had been planning all along to ask the doctor for a walking boot since the lace-up brace they gave me last time was doing nothing for me and honestly, was very impractical for me. The doctor kindly replied that the boots have very little arch support which is what my foot desperately needs and that he typically casts for this problem....so here we are.

40 years old and receiving my VERY FIRST CAST EVER.
Of course I had to choose pink!!

And I am just happy that I can walk on it and am not on crutches. What a nightmare that would be along with being a single-mom during the week. And because I have my priorities completely in line, right after getting the cast put on, I picked up Ethan, we went to Target for my anti-inflammatory meds and then straight to the nail salon for a polish change. In my defense, I was desperately in need of a pedi anyway and now with my toes exposed for the next 3 weeks, I absolutely  needed my polish done. Yay!!

I will get the cast removed at 3pm on May 29...just 3 days before we leave for Disneyworld!!!

weekend plans

Really happy that the ONLY thing on the official agenda this weekend is Ethan's teeball game on Saturday morning.

After that, my weekend should contain a whole lotta scrapbooking...I really want to finish my Week In The Life album and I'm pretty close to done, so that should happen. Yay! I hope to take pictures of the finished product and get them posted as well.

Because of Week In The Life, I'm now behind on my Project Life pages (of course!), so I'll switch over and hopefully get caught up there. One slight problem though is after taking a bazillion pictures last week for WITL, I've taken very few this week. Oops!!

I will be including this awesome sticker I received at ChickFila this morning though - when I might have ordered a chocolate chunk cookie for breakfast. :) Breakfast of champions, you know!

If I manage to get caught up on both of those projects, I'll then proceed to my 30 lists in 30 days that I was planning to do this month. And which I have not even started on besides selecting a few papers to include in it. Oops!

Oh yeah, and then there's my One Little Word project....yikes!!

And I took advantage of Ali's sale and purchased her FIVE workshop for only $10 the other day. Would love to start on that, but definitely have to get some of these others out of the way first!
So much to do. So little time.

What's on your weekend agenda?
