just another fad?

blogging...a fad? a trend? a dying one, whatever it is.

turns out next to NO ONE is blogging anymore.

and by NO ONE, I mean most of the friends I made THRU blogging.

kinda sad, but I get it. I'm sorta over it too. not much left to say.

back to work. not motivated. you know, more of the same.

just a year later.

It does seem to have come in waves. The ones I followed from the beginning are now gone or not posting nearly as much. I guess maybe after a while you feel like you are saying the same thing over and over again.

Here's the way I look at it.....

Blogging was something that we (well I, at least) all really needed at that time in our life. We were all so lucky to find each other. There was something missing that we couldn't get from our IRL friends and we could find it in the blogging community. I know for me, that helped me SO MUCH, and then my situation changed when I moved back, and it took a back burner. Not only that, a few of us have met in real life, so that kind of shifts things. You'll always be my friend, even if I'm not blogging!

I'm struggling to post lately, mostly because I'm not running and who wants to read about all the tv I've been watching? Blogging is "wavy" for me - sometimes I'm really into it an sometimes I just don't want to deal with it. I also sometimes think how unimportant my random crap is and why do I waste time?

I don't think it's a fad. At least in my case, life has gotten the better of me. I might not be writing or commenting, but you can guarantee, I'm still reading what you have to say!

I'm still blogging... :)
It's like my journal.

Unless it's a blog that has a real specific purpose, or people are using as launch pads to whatever or trying to attract tons of readers, it seems like it depends on when life gets in the way. I go through spurts where I don't want to write, then I don't want to write just about my kids, or about Julia's CP. Then I write again. And I still read, but since I read through Google Reader now I don't comment as often.

And I think Facebook effed everything up.

I agree w/all of you...a big part of it for me is time...and that my desktop broke, which was the easiest computer to use to add pictures...I just don't have the patience to put pics in every post. I'm going to try to just record things here for E...like what he's doing at certain ages...I was never good at that before, hopefully I can do it now. Ha!

I have just been lazy. Lazy reading. Lazy writing. I have a bunch of ideas that I really need to run with. Blogging is one of those things that the more I do it regularly, the more I do it. (If that makes sense?)
