Grim Outlook

As I prepare to start my new job next month, which just happens to be the lowest paying job of my professional life, I cannot help but think of all the things I will need to either save for or pay for.

1) School Loans...nope, not looking forward to this payment starting, but I will happy to be rid of them someday.

2) New Car Fund..since Ford is sucky and unable to determine what the hell is wrong with my car right now. I feel like it's days are numbered.

3) Divorce Fund...no explanation needed.

With my life circumstances turning out the way they have...I may have to abandon this new profession at some point and go back to the former, should the economy ever recover enough for positions to appear in that field.

And so instead of being happy and excited to start a new job, I'm really just stressed and depressed about the whole scenario.

I wish I could do something more other than say I'm thinking of you & hoping that it all somehow gets resolved quickly and easily for you. Damn money. It creates so many issues.

Hang in there, friend.

Sorry that Ford is completely incompetent when it comes to your car. :(

Repaying loans sucks, but you'll get through it. You can always defer for 6 months, and then again if necessary. I think I deferred the law school ones for a year, because I just didn't have the money. Then I just sent in whatever amount I could each month

as far as the divorce fund, well I can help you out with that when the time comes. . .well, not paying for it, but helping you figure out what to do and/or where to find low-cost services.

This is why I just pretend like I have tons of money!! ;) Okay not really, but it really is daunting when you start to add it all up!!

I can so relate - I have an MBA and am working as a waitress. Making less money now than anytime since I've been out of college.

I will pay off my undergrad loans sometimes in the next 3 months finally. Thankfully no loans for the unused MBA.

Hang in there and hopefully once you're in the new job you'll find you love it. And as for the divorce fund don't forget with that will hopefully come child support which will help right?

oh i hate trying to 'look ahead'. makes me feel poor and like i will never get anywhere! i always thought that my money threshold would increase as i got older/worked more... i mean in high school $20 was "a lot", and it still is now!!

just keep making progress - it's all we can do, and is certainly better than burying further into any debt.

#3... :( big hug!! hate that things are rough and often unhappy for you.

One perk to paying off student loans? The interest is a tax deduction. I like that part. I'm paying that debt off the slowest, as long as I continue to receive a deduction off my income tax.
