the running (or lack thereof) saga continues

I returned to the Orthopaedic doctor today, approximately 6 weeks after my initial visit, only to report that my foot had worsened. I haven't ran since April 1st, when I did the Knoxville Half (and probably shouldn't have ran it at all, but we won't talk about that for now).

I had been planning all along to ask the doctor for a walking boot since the lace-up brace they gave me last time was doing nothing for me and honestly, was very impractical for me. The doctor kindly replied that the boots have very little arch support which is what my foot desperately needs and that he typically casts for this problem....so here we are.

40 years old and receiving my VERY FIRST CAST EVER.
Of course I had to choose pink!!

And I am just happy that I can walk on it and am not on crutches. What a nightmare that would be along with being a single-mom during the week. And because I have my priorities completely in line, right after getting the cast put on, I picked up Ethan, we went to Target for my anti-inflammatory meds and then straight to the nail salon for a polish change. In my defense, I was desperately in need of a pedi anyway and now with my toes exposed for the next 3 weeks, I absolutely  needed my polish done. Yay!!

I will get the cast removed at 3pm on May 29...just 3 days before we leave for Disneyworld!!!

That's horrible! Although cute cast :) I had a cast on my left arm when I was in 5th grade. It was cool - then. Now a days I would hate it! Hope you're better soon!

I've never had a cast. I love the pink!! And the nails - such a priority, haha. Hope it helps you heal up 100%!
