the good, the bad & the ugly

Good: I have all of next week OFF.
Bad: I have no travel plans & will spend the week @ home.
Ugly: I have little to no money to do anything.

Good: I have a lawsuit in progress that will hopefully punish the wrong doers.
Bad: I met with my lawyer 6 wks ago & he still hasn't submitted the demand.
Ugly: I was told he'd call me Monday, then Thursday. Today is Friday. Still no call. F'-er.

Good: I started my 2nd book (for fun) since being out of school.
Bad: It has a great review & sounds SO good, but I just cannot get into it. After reading 2 pages, I'm falling asleep.
Ugly: I'm only on page 28 after more than a week.

Good: I will only have 1 class to take in July.
Bad: I had to buy the textbook NEW (vs. USED) for this class.
Ugly: It cost $55, is paperback and only has 300 pages. Ripoff!!

Good: I've been running regularly for a week and a half now and feel great!
Bad: It's hard to resist weighing myself every day.
Ugly: The scale shows me down only 1 lb STILL!

1. Go on picnics, to free shows, for bike rides, feed the ducks...
2. I hate flakes.
3. Good books that end up being terrible reads SUCK.
4. You never know how quality the book will be, or how useful for the class. Pay now, judge later :)
5. It takes a couple months for your body to build up the muscle which will then do all of the fat burning. When losing weight there is always the initial weight gain, then the loss starts coming and doesn't stop. Or so my coaches have told me. Sometimes not eating works better faster haha.

Our saving grace for lack of $$ this summer is the pool membership, it was $90 for the whole family for the summer, we can all barely go to a movie for that!! BBB and I also make the kids ride their bikes with us when we go on our 3 mile runs, that wears them out for a while.

Lifes too short to read boring books... donate it :-)

Wow!! I need to be a paperback writer for college text books!! Screw the NAVY!!!

Dont get discouraged about the scale, make sure you are drinking TONS and TONS of water and you are eating enough protein (do as I say not as I do) hahahahah!! Hang in there!

I hate it when a book puts me to sleep...actually I hate starting books. I wish I could start on page 100 and just alreadt know all the background info. Hope it gets better.

Jessi-oh yes, i'm drinking TONS of water for sure. At lesat 64oz day per WW guidelines. LOL! What is frustrating is that last time I started running, the weight came off a lot quicker so all this "build up muscle" talk just wears on my last nerve. I want to scream (not at you) I KNOW MUSCLE WEIGHS MORE THAN FAT. I'm a lifelong dieter!!

OP-I hear ya' on the book thing - getting started is such a drag.

I hear ya!!! Your putting in the work, the LBs should jump right off!!! Its frustrating and annoying when our bodies dont want to cooperate!!! When all else fails I usually just blame PMS for waterweight and ignore the scale for a few days... Even though I am a freak about weighing myself all the time so thats pretty hard too. It'll work soon!!!

I would be harassing the heck out of that attorney, but that's just me.

Do you guys have free movies during the summer for kids? Maybe check into that.

I say if the book doesn't grab you in the first 28 pages, it's likely not for you despite the reviews. Which book is it by the way?

Have you read Geneen Roth's book 'When You Eat at the Refridgerator, Pull Up a Chair'? I just finished it and it was amazing. I have been trying so hard for over a month to lose weight and get back to my "normal" size and this book really put it into perspective for me. I don't think you are the kind of person who gives up easily...hang in there, I'm in the same boat.

Krystyn-I have harrassed my attorney, but it can only go so far, otherwise I run the risk of him just purposely taking longer....*sigh*

Vanessa-the book is "Toss of a Lemon"

Congratulations on a successful week of running! Here's my bright side - loosing one pound is better than gaining one.

I've once again started to work on my "bowflex body". In two weeks, the only thing I've noticed is that my arms have gotten firmer - certainly not where I need the tautness and now the new shirt I bought a few weeks ago is busting at the seems. I'm like She Hulk.
