randomness is my favorite

~i love random posts and so here's another...

~the other night I mentioned to O my interest in running this 5k in Nashville. It would give us an "excuse" to go to Nashville, get away from here and stay in a hotel and generally get out of our ridiculously boring 'do-nothing' routine. Now before I tell you how he responded, let me say that he has been (shockingly) very supportive in my running venture, never batting an eyelash at me signing up for races or the time I spend on the when he said "how many races did you sign up for this week?" I kind of laughed.

~I have been talking ALOT about races, but honestly I only signed up for ONE this week and that was on Monday when I mailed the form in. Anyway, I'm not officially signed up for the Nashville 5k, but it's on my race schedule because I WILL be signing up for it. So there.

~if you said you were not a 'gossipy' person, yet went to playgroup, talked about another mom who was not present and then called me after playgroup ended to find out what I thought about what was said about person not present...isn't that gossipy? I think so. I'm talking about the friend who keeps me on the phone for insane amounts of time. I wasn't home from playgroup more than 10 minutes and the phone rings. this happens all.the.time. thankfully I was on the treadmill so I didn't answer. what is also annoying about this is that I said I was coming home so E could nap, I could run and then work on my paper. yet she still calls. not planning to return that call. i think she needs to find a hobby.

~still no word from my hairdresser. i have an appointment on Sunday @ Aveda for a trim with the same gal I saw back in May when I was previously frustrated with my hairdresser. I see a trend here.

~and I'm up to 697 followers...only 3 to go.

That 5K looks like SOOOooo much fun!! What would you dress up as? I'm slightly embarrassed to say that I've been tinkerbell the last 3 halloweens, NOT a practical costume to run in, the wings would surely slow you down!! I was the little mermaid a few (much thinner) years ago, that would NOT work either, first theres the fin, and of course sea shells DO NOT equal sports bra! Anyway, sounds like such a great time, I will be cyber supporting you since I will be in Africa by then. I am really trying to convince my hubby to run the country music 1/2 with me when I get home, I've always wanted to do that one!!

Good luck with the hairdresser... Thats such a pain!

I hate the follow up to a gossip call. I've been known to either a. ignore it or b. refuse to discuss it when they pick up.

Totally ridiculous.

I have to say I am impressed with your dedication to running! The thought of doing that is enticing to me but I have to say I don't have the drive for it :(

Maybe you should try my method, although there have been a few occasions when I wished I hadn't switched hairdressers as often. However, a new person may have a new take on what would look good for you and give you some variety. Perspective is everything!

I just made a gossip call myself, but the person I gossiped to doesn't actually know the person I was gossiping about.
How does one go about getting 697 followers? I have 6!

Glad to see you're finding so many races to sign up for! And does that other mom not have a clue?? I mean, seriously, if someone says to me "i gotta go" on the phone, I can take a clue.

Jessi-actually i'll probably be a party pooper and not dress up. I just want to run and check out the party afterwards.

Mrs. Newlywed: i am really hating the calls 10min post leaving playgroup too. I'm leaving cuz I have STUFF TO DO. HELLO!!! I guess since I don't stay @ home FT, I'm busier and she is home ALL THE TIME and as far as I know has NO hobbies & doesn't cook for her husband either...clearly she needs a distraction. And I don't care about what was said about the other mom anyway. Geesh!

Andaluciana-thank you for the compliment on the running. i am committed now that I forked over $140 for the Disney 1/2. There's no turning back, plus I keep thinking about what great shape (I hope) I will be in by then as I've never trained for something like that before.

Bored Housewife: I only have that many followers because I was Blog of Note a few months ago. Before that I had maybe 7 followers, if that.

Emily-O isn't going to run w/me, which is fine. He keeps saying he will, but then he says he'd rather take pictures and honestly, I'd rather have the pictures than listen to him badgering me to run faster so I can keep up with him.

only 2 more to 700! That's awesome that E is supportive of you running. It helps when you don't have someone complaining about it all the time!

Just ran across your blog for the first time via Twitter. Your layout is adorable - adding you to my blogroll!

I had to comment because I participated in I Run For The Party's Cinco de Mayo 5K on May 2 and it was an absolute BLAST. I am definitely registering for the Halloween one!

Good luck! :)
