a giveaway

~I want to do a giveaway on my blog.

~Problem is, I don't have anything (that anyone would want) to giveaway.

~That makes it pretty difficult to do a giveaway, huh?

~So, I came up with the great idea of you telling me what you would like to see in a giveaway.

~Now, don't go all crazy on me with big ticket items, I only work 20 hrs/week and essentially that's in exchange for graduate tuition, so I virtually have NO money.

~I have a ton of scrapbooking things I could giveaway, but not all of my readers are scrapbookers, so that probably won't work too well.

~So, give me some ideas...

~Once I have a great giveaway product, I will post the giveaway rules & fine print.

I imeditaly thought 'scrapbook stuff' as soon as I started reading your post :)

How about getting something at a reduced price from CVS while using ECB? You can get some really good deals, and even free stuff.

Fun nail polish? Earrings? FLIP FLOPS :)

oh - maybe some books you have lying around? Counld be a way to motivate people to read?

Well not everyone would want to create a scrapbook or cards but you could give away a set of stationary that you made. I think a nice set of creative thank you cards or something like that would be nice!

how about a scrapbooking lesson for those of us curious in the process who have no idea what it's about or how to start etc?

You could maybe make something cute with your scrapbooking stuff like a decorated picture frame, or a cute collage and frame it or something else along those lines. Handmade stuff is really cool and it can be really cheap to make if you already have all the material!

Hope this helps!

Reading through some of your comments I think the book idea is really cool - kind of like a book swap.

I'm a scrapbooker so I of course would be interested in that.

You could do a free layout - a 12x12 page complete and all the people would have to do is paste their picture(s) on. You could even send them the photo mounting squares. Then they would just adhere the page into their (new) album or they could frame it.

*why is it that more ideas come after I hit submit??

Señorita Andalucíana has a great idea on a "batch" of cards! I did this for my step-mom one year for her bday. I made a batch of cards: happy birthday, merry christmas, thinking of you, etc. etc. and tied a pretty ribbon around them...damn. I want to do this too Lol.

What a neat idea for you to ask your readers!

I'm about to do my first giveaway too! Hope you'll check it out.

Great idea, and that's very sweet of you! The idea that someone else had about making cards sounds cool! That would be cute and very creative.

Scrapbook stuff or what about your adorable onesies? I say a giveaway is a giveaway and beggars can't be choosers so anything is great!

I think scrapbook stuff would be cool, but I also second the ideas for something you MAKE with the scrapbook stuff (like cards) or a book(s). What a fun idea! :)

You could ask around, and find a handmade business to donate items for your giveaway.

What about you creating a post card or picture. Something with your scrapbook materials? You can get a frame from a second hand store to put it into. It could be a "Your a great friend" or "Just to make you smile" or something in those lines. Something that the winner can remember you by too! Keep it on their desk or mantle. Maybe something shabby chic! I would take that!

I don't scrapbook but make my own greetings cards and I wish someone could give me a clue on how to use my Fishkar cutter. It's supposed to cut circles and whatnot but it just tears the paper or does nothing and it drives me CRAZY!!
Seriously, I like the idea of either a book or a smalll framed piece.
