~Sunday Randomness~

~Today was my last Sunday Study Day - at least for the next 5 weeks! Hooray! I met up with 2 classmates to prepare our Tuesday night presentation for the Death & Dying class. We were done in 1 hour. Awesome!!

~We had our first semi-major baby accident today. I don't really know what happened because I had turned my back but we were both in the office and he somehow managed to hit his mouth/nose on the hard edge of the sofa (?) causing a bloody nose AND mouth. It was NOT pretty. Poor baby! Thankfully he is fine now!!

~O had Nat'l Guard this weekend. He came home and seems to be somewhat indecisive about his pending departure for BCT and Training (in 16 days). The cause of said indecision is the recent knee surgery he had and all the drama that surrounds it. I still think he'll be leaving on 5/4 but we need to REALLY hope his knee doesn't wig out on him while he's gone. That could be really ugly & cause ALOT of issues.

~I'm hoping to meet up with my Advisor this week to hash out the differences btw the Mental Health Counseling Program and the School Counseling Program. I really want to make the change. I hope it works out for me.

~I am SUPER EXCITED about my upcoming 2 DAY work week. Gotta love that!! I have accrued some extra hours and so I decided I would use some of them and take Wednesday off as a treat to myself for the end of the semester.

~Sold both of my textbooks on Amazon this week. Yay for a little (desperately needed) extra income.

~I have a meeting with my lawyer on Thursday to answer a bunch of questions from the guilty opposing side. Maybe all of this will be completed by the time I am 50. I dunno. Probably not.

~Totally envious of some of the moms in my play group who have parents/relatives who take their kid(s) overnight (for numerous nights in a row) giving them a reprieve as well as some much needed FREE time. I could use this. Unfortunately, I don't have the parents/relatives willing/able to do this. Oh and these women are 100% stay at home moms. Yeah, 'nuff said.

~Over the years I have always felt that I am the one who puts forth more effort to stay in touch with friends and well, I have finally made the decision to give up on that. If I'm not worth staying in touch with, nor are they. And I'm BUSY TOO!!! This has always annoyed me but I am choosing now to just let it go. I don't have time to care.

~That's all for now. That's probably enough.

i definitely hear you on the effort vs. no effort in the friend dept. i swear, i have "no, really, it's okay" written on my forehead. i am forever letting people off the hook for not keeping up their end of the friend relationship.

::sigh:: clearly, i'm not bitter or anything.

Wow, that was a lot of stuff at once!! haha At least you got the first accident out of the way. If I could only begin to remember how many times I banged myself up as a kid and I'm ok.. well.. for the most part.

Try to enjoy your time off.. do something for YOU!!

I think you should definately go into school counseling..its a great gig:)) I just happen to work in a specific program in the schools that are for kids with SEVERE problems. What happens in there isn't typical. So go for it!!

First of all, I hope your little guy is ok!

Secondly, I'm in the same boat with the friends thing, too. I get tired of ALWAYS being the one trying to make things work only for it not to, and then have it somehow turned around on me. I've come to realize that I shouldn't even consider those people "friends." Phones, emails, and visits work both ways....I am trying very hard also just to let things naturally take their course and not be the one to always initiate contact.

I hear ya, you're not alone!

I've been there too, with the "friends who don't put in much effort", and I've just ended up letting go. I'm lousy at keeping in touch and got tired of the extra effort for people who didn't put that same effort in. So my list of friends has greatly diminished, but at least I know who they really are! What's important isn't quantity, it's quality! :o)

Wow, someone was really busy!

Hope the baby is okay. Accidents happen, even while we're watching closely. They're just too fast!

Glad Ethan is okay! My niece got into SO many accidents when she was his age...something I can look forward to, I suppose! ;)

The first blood is always the worst. I about had a heart ache.

I also have no help at all. I get very jealous of helpful grandparents.
